The Academy of Ballet Arts performs and participates in numerous events each year. Our St. Petersburg Ballet Company performs our annual production of the Nutcracker as well as a Spring Show each year. We also perform at a number of venues in the Tampa Bay area throughout the year. Dancers and instructors from our studio participate in the Great American Teach-In each November. We perform at First Night in St. Petersburg and at numerous other area events. We also offer master classes which are open to all dancers (pending available space).

Ana Smalling is a senior at Saint Petersburg High School’s International Baccalaureate Program. Ana has been dancing at the Academy of Ballet Arts since she was three years old. She has also participated in summer programs with Joffrey Ballet School and Next Generation Ballet. In past years, Ana has performed lead roles in the Nutcracker such as Spanish lead, Arabian lead, and Reed Pipes lead. This year she is dancing her dream roles of Snow Queen, Sugar Rose, and Sugar Plum Fairy. This will be Ana’s last Nutcracker with Academy of Ballet Arts, so it’s a very bittersweet performance for her. She feels incredibly lucky to be able to perform despite everything that has happened this year and would like to thank everyone responsible for putting together this special performance.
